The Fellowship of the Ring

I FINALLY got around to reading the series, and this book is fantastic. Everyone was right.

The King in Yellow

A short story collection that inspired H.P. Lovecraft. It's scary and spooky, though not as much as you'd quite expect.

Blood Meridian

Absolutely terrifying and visceral, but there just isn't anything quite like it.

It Ends With Us

Believe it or not, I didn't hate it. It's not written amazingly, but it is a sensitive book about abuse. Easy to dunk on, but at the end of the day it's more boring than controversial.

Fledgling

Octavia Butler's last book, and it definitely sets up for a sequel that never could be written. It's about vampires and how they love and form families. May or may not contain sensitive topics between adults and children (depends on who you ask).

Scorch Atlas

A book you're supposed to burn after reading it. I enjoyed it too much to burn. It's pessimistic and mostly vibes, but somehow enjoyable regardless. Needs more plot though.

Water for Elephants

A strange book with a very colorful cast. If you don't like old-school circus vibes you definitely won't like this. I, however, enjoyed it.

The Gathering

It's excellent, and I appreciate how deep the coming-of-age themes go.

Wuthering Heights

A book so good and so raw, Charlotte Bronte had to write multiple introductions trying to excuse it and its contents.

Acceptance

A satisfying conclusion to the Annihilation trilogy, but I shouldn't have taken time off from the series to finish it.

I'm Glad My Mom Died

To be fair, I love my mom, but I also loved this book. Chilling insight into the Hollywood child pipeline.

A Ring of Endless Light

An odd, funny book by Madeleine L'Engle, somehow turned into a Disney Channel Original Movie at some point. It's good, but strange.

Frankenstein

It's a classic for a reason. Surprisingly not very long.

Dracula

Very good, and surpringly funny - a lot funnier than you might think.
